Hotel Niza Colonial Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Niza Colonial, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical four-star chain hotel. The colonial architecture feels authentic rather than themed — I mean, you can tell they’ve put thought into preserving the character while making everything work for modern travelers. Located in the Suba district, it sits in a quieter part of Bogotá that honestly feels more residential than touristy, which I actually loved. The hotel maintains its historic charm while offering contemporary conveniences that appeal to discerning travelers.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I found interesting about the location — couples absolutely rave about this area, and after staying there, I get why. The neighborhood has this local vibe where you’ll see families walking around in the evenings, small cafés that aren’t trying to be Instagram-perfect, just authentic. You know what’s really practical though? They have private parking right at the hotel, which if you’ve ever tried to park in Bogotá, you’ll understand is basically gold. The area feels safe for evening strolls, and there are enough local spots within walking distance that you don’t feel isolated.
The Room Experience
My room had this nice balance — colonial touches like wooden furniture and traditional tiles, but modern amenities that actually work well. The beds are comfortable (not too soft, not too firm), and honestly, the air conditioning was a relief after walking around the city. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets for charging devices, and windows that open if you prefer fresh air over AC. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, offering practical functionality for daily use.
Dining & Daily Rhythms
The hotel restaurant serves solid Colombian fare — nothing revolutionary, but well-prepared and reasonably priced. I actually ended up eating breakfast there most mornings because it was convenient and the coffee was genuinely good (which matters in Colombia, obviously). The staff seemed to know regulars by name, which gave the place a more personal feel than you’d expect. There are also several family-run restaurants within a few blocks if you want to explore local flavors and regional specialties.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this hotel works because it doesn’t try too hard. The service is attentive without being overly formal, the colonial charm feels genuine rather than manufactured, and the location gives you a real sense of how locals live in Bogotá. Recent guests consistently rate the location highly — and after staying there, I understand the appeal. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing authentic Colombian hospitality while still having the comfort and reliability you want from a four-star property. Plus, having secure parking in a city like Bogotá removes one major stress from your travel equation.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Bogota around Quinta Camacho for tree-lined streets, concept cafes, and bike repair pop-ups.

The hospitality was amazing!
We arrived late and the host order some food for us. Also they prepared a breakfast even it was a bit late and then during the payement there’s was some problem with their server so it was rejected. They decided to offer me a breakfast saying that it’s my house form now on and that I’m always welcome. I was really touched! The payment passed later in the day but what counts it’s the intention. Thank you so much!Mauricio from Colombia (9/10)

The hotel is really beautiful, having the colonial type as the photos, the hotel is in a very calm area, yet also close to the public transportation and minutes away on foot to the mall, Kelly and Fran were really helpful and kind, definitely will come back there for my next trip to Colombia. Thank you
