Viajero Bogotá Hostel & Spa Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Viajero Bogotá Hostel & Spa feels like discovering a hidden gem right in the heart of Colombia’s capital. This four-star property sits perfectly in Centro Histórico, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — you’re literally surrounded by colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, and that authentic Bogotá energy that makes the city so captivating. The building itself has this cool blend of historic charm and modern comfort that immediately tells you this isn’t your typical hostel experience.
The Historic Heart
You know what really struck me about staying here? The way they’ve managed to preserve the colonial character while adding contemporary touches throughout. The Centro Histórico location means you can walk to Plaza Bolívar in about five minutes, and La Candelaria’s colorful streets are right at your doorstep. I mean, couples absolutely love this spot — they consistently rate the location 9.1 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but tucked away on a quieter street that lets you actually get some sleep.
Comfort and Amenities
The room quality really surprised me — this place operates more like a boutique hotel than a traditional hostel. Each space is thoughtfully designed with comfortable beds, good lighting, and enough storage that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. What sets Viajero apart is their spa facilities, which honestly feels like such a treat after long days exploring the city’s steep streets. There’s something pretty wonderful about unwinding with a massage or hitting the sauna when your legs are tired from wandering around Monserrate or the Gold Museum.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is actually really well done — they offer American-style options that hit the spot, plus they have this grab-and-go service that’s perfect when you want to get an early start exploring. The dining area has this relaxed vibe where you’ll often find yourself chatting with other travelers over coffee, sharing tips about hidden spots in the city. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, so don’t hesitate to ask them about the best local places to eat or which streets to avoid after dark.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it bridges the gap between budget travel and genuine comfort. You get the social atmosphere and local insights that come with hostel culture, but with the amenities and service level you’d expect from a proper hotel. The location consistently earns rave reviews because you’re positioned perfectly to explore both the historic sites and the emerging neighborhoods nearby. Plus, having spa services available means you can actually recharge between adventures — something that’s pretty rare in this price range and definitely worth experiencing when you’re tackling a city as dynamic as Bogotá.

Reviews of Viajero Bogotá Hostel & Spa
Linda from Switzerland (9/10)
Our stay at Viajero Bogotá was amazing! We stayed in the dorm as well as a twin room. If you travel with someone I would recommend investing in the twin room. The dorms are perfectly fine, but the twin room really exceeds expectations!
The spa is a really nice addition, especially in the rainy season. All of the staff but especially John & Mauro were so friendly and helpful. It was our first night in Colombia and they made us feel so welcome!
There are tons of activities, we joined the wine & paint one. The host was the most lovely, inviting girl and, it was a great way to connect to other travelers.
The location is good, Bogotá is massive so you won’t be able to do everything walkingAlois from France (9/10)

The place is alright. Social enough to meet other people. The spa isn't all that great, but you get a discount and the sauna is free, eventhough not great either. Still nice to have it. The bar has weired opening times. E.g. it closes super early, like 8 or 9pm.
Nicholas from United States (8/10)
The room had air conditioning, hot water and good water pressure. The staff was helpful and there was football on tv in the lounge.
Dylan from Netherlands (9/10)
