The Artisan D.C. Hotel, Autograph Collection Overview

First Impressions

Walking into The Artisan D.C. Hotel, Autograph Collection feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of Bogotá’s trendy Chapinero district. This four-star boutique property has that rare quality where everything just clicks — the design feels intentional without being pretentious, and the staff actually seems happy to see you. I mean, you can tell when a hotel gets the details right, and this place definitely does.

The Chapinero Advantage

Honestly, the location is probably the hotel’s biggest win. You’re right on Avenida Calle 72, which puts you in walking distance of some of Bogotá’s best cafés, galleries, and that whole Zone Rosa nightlife scene. What I love about staying here is that you can easily explore the trendy Zona T area, but you’re also close enough to catch the TransMilenio if you want to head down to La Candelaria or other parts of the city. The fact that couples rate this spot 9.6 makes total sense — there’s something romantic about being in this artsy, upscale neighborhood where you can just wander around and stumble onto great little places.

Room Experience

The room design really reflects that “artisan” concept they’re going for — think local artwork, thoughtful lighting, and furnishings that feel both modern and rooted in Colombian craftsmanship. You know what impressed me? The attention to comfort without overdoing it. The beds are genuinely comfortable (which isn’t always a given), and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in. Plus, having free private parking available is huge if you’re planning to rent a car and explore beyond the city — not something you find everywhere in this part of Bogotá.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

I’ll be honest, hotel breakfast can be hit or miss, but they’ve actually put thought into this one. The spread includes continental options alongside American classics, and they do a solid job with vegetarian and vegan choices too — which is refreshing. The breakfast-to-go option is clever if you’re planning an early day trip or just prefer to eat while exploring. It’s one of those small touches that shows they understand how people actually travel.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.1 rating isn’t just numbers — you feel it when you’re there. The hotel strikes this perfect balance between being polished enough for business travelers but relaxed enough that you don’t feel like you need to dress up to walk through the lobby. Being part of the Autograph Collection means you get reliable service standards, but the property maintains its own personality. Whether you’re using it as a base for exploring Bogotá’s cultural scene or you’re in town for work, this place just makes sense. The Chapinero location alone makes it worth considering, but the fact that they’ve created a genuinely welcoming space seals the deal.

The hotel was very stylish with a great lobby/lounge area with a bar. Tons of interesting books to read while reclining on one of the leather couches. The room was comfortable and the hotel location is very convenient for a lot of restaurants. Also some bank ATMs are close by (good for getting some local currency!) and I felt safe when visiting them. The breakfast was really good with gluten free options.
