Here’s what I love about staying at Terrazas — you’re right in the heart of Chapinero, which is basically Bogotá’s most dynamic district. I mean, you can walk to some of the city’s best restaurants and cafes without dealing with the notorious Bogotá traffic. The Zona Rosa is just a few blocks away, and honestly, couples seem to get this location thing figured out (they rate it super highly). You know what’s great? You’re close enough to the action but the actual street — DG 55 — is quieter than the main drags, so you can actually sleep at night.

The Rooms

The rooms at Terrazas are well, exactly what you’d hope for in this price range but with some nice surprises. They’re clean and thoughtfully designed — not huge, but they use the space intelligently. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are modern without being sterile. What I appreciated most was the attention to local touches — small details that remind you you’re in Colombia, not some generic international chain hotel.

Local Knowledge

The staff here really knows Chapinero, and that’s worth its weight in gold. They’ll point you toward the good arepas place around the corner (not the touristy one), and they actually understand the bus system well enough to give you real directions. Being in this part of the city means you’re also within walking distance of some excellent local markets — something you might miss if you stayed in the more obvious hotel zones. The neighborhood has this great mix of business district energy during the day and a more relaxed, residential feel in the evenings.

Look, Terrazas isn’t trying to be something it’s not — it’s a solid, well-run three-star hotel in an excellent location. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you experience the combination of genuine hospitality, smart location choice, and that hard-to-define feeling that you’re staying somewhere that actually cares about the guest experience. For the price point, you’re getting way more value than you’d find in the more touristy areas, plus you’ll have stories about the “real” Bogotá to take home. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you made a smart choice rather than just a safe one.
