Palermo Home Bogota & Art Gallery Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Palermo Home Bogota & Art Gallery, you immediately realize this isn’t your typical hotel — it’s more like staying in someone’s thoughtfully curated art collection that happens to have beds. The name gives it away, honestly, but I wasn’t prepared for how seamlessly they’ve woven contemporary Colombian art throughout the space. It’s a three-star property that punches well above its weight, and you can tell the owners actually care about creating something special rather than just filling rooms.

The Teusaquillo Advantage

The location in Bogotá‘s Teusaquillo neighborhood is honestly brilliant — you’re close enough to the action but far enough from the tourist chaos of La Candelaria. I mean, couples consistently rate the area 8.8 out of 10, and after spending time here, I get why. You’ve got authentic Colombian restaurants within walking distance, plus easy access to the TransMilenio system when you want to explore further. The tree-lined streets feel safe for evening strolls, which isn’t something you can say about every part of the city.

Your Art-Filled Room

Each room feels like a mini gallery space — and I don’t mean they just slapped some prints on the walls and called it art. The pieces are carefully selected, often by local artists, and they rotate periodically so return guests get a fresh experience. The accommodations themselves are comfortable without being flashy, with good Wi-Fi (crucial for staying connected) and surprisingly effective blackout curtains that help with Bogotá’s early sunrise. You know what impressed me most? The attention to lighting — they’ve actually thought about how to display the artwork properly while keeping the space livable.

Starting Your Day Right

The American-style breakfast is straightforward but well-executed — think eggs, toast, fresh fruit, and decent coffee (which, let’s be honest, should be a given in Colombia). What I appreciated was the timing flexibility; they understand that not everyone wants to rush down at 7 AM sharp. The breakfast area doubles as another gallery space, so you’re essentially dining surrounded by rotating exhibitions. It’s a nice way to ease into the day, especially if you’re planning to tackle Bogotá’s museums or neighborhoods later.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.1 guest rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s the kind of place that exceeds expectations without trying too hard. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and can point you toward hidden gems that aren’t in guidebooks. Plus, there’s something refreshing about supporting a property that actively promotes Colombian artists while providing solid accommodations. You’re not just getting a bed for the night; you’re getting a cultural experience that feels authentic rather than manufactured. For the price point, honestly, it’s hard to find better value in this part of Bogotá.

Apartments in Bogota suit remote teams with floor-to-ceiling windows, security lobbies, and on-site barista bars.

Five star facilities in 2 star price. Excellent service, polite staff, serene ambiance and very clean. Shops and cafes nearby, great connectivity to the city, very specious room and several birds seen at the back in the morning. I strongly recommend this hotel Dr. Dilip Joshi, Mumbai, 🇮🇳 India.

  • Fiona from United Kingdom (9/10)

We had a junior suite which had a large comfortable bed, kettle, microwave, fridge, plates etc. The shower was lovely and hot. The staff were very pleasant and there was good security. Breakfast for $5 was very good.

The walk along Carrera 7 to the old town was interesting – part of it is pedestrianised.

Lots of restaurants nearby – to have a change from South American food we ate at Cafe los Cedros
    – a small cafe lounge which served reasonably priced and delicious tapas and pasta dishes.
