Lancaster House Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Lancaster House feels like discovering a well-kept secret in Bogotá’s upscale Usaquén neighborhood. This four-star boutique property sits quietly on a tree-lined street parallel to the Autopista Norte, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the chaos to actually get some sleep. The lobby has this understated elegance that immediately tells you the owners know what they’re doing.
The Usaquén Advantage
You know what I love about staying here? Usaquén is where locals actually want to live, not just where tourists end up. Step outside and you’ll find yourself in one of Bogotá’s most charming districts, with cobblestone streets leading to weekend markets and some seriously good cafés. The Sunday flea market at Parque de Usaquén is just a pleasant walk away — I mean, where else can you browse local crafts and then grab excellent Colombian coffee without dealing with downtown traffic? Plus, couples seem to absolutely love this area (they rate the location 9.1), and I get why.
Sleep Like You Mean It
Let me tell you about the beds — they’re actually as comfortable as everyone says they are. After years of hotel stays where you wake up feeling like you wrestled with the mattress all night, Lancaster House gets it right. The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed, not flashy but genuinely comfortable, with blackout curtains that actually block out the morning light. The bathrooms are modern and well-maintained, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to get up a bit earlier. They’ve got a proper buffet setup with continental options, but what impressed me was how they handle dietary preferences — vegetarian choices that aren’t just an afterthought, and American-style options for those who need their familiar morning comfort food. The coffee is Colombian, obviously, and it’s the kind that reminds you why this country has such a reputation for the stuff. I actually found myself lingering over breakfast longer than usual, which says something.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a place where people keep coming back — and Lancaster House has more repeat guests than most hotels I’ve encountered. Maybe it’s the private parking (a genuine blessing in Bogotá), or the fact that the staff remembers your preferences after a visit or two. The 8.5 rating feels about right — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it delivers consistently on the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. Whether you’re here for business or exploring the city, this place just works without any drama or disappointment.
Exploring Bogota blends colonial plazas, cloud forests, and sizzling arepa grills.

We stayed in a suite with a terrace, which was so wonderful to be able to sit outside. Big glass doors in both the living room and bedroom, so lots of light. The breakfast was super! Lots of fresh fruit, eggs made to order, and the staff were marvelous! Super respectful, friendly, and fast!! The whole hotel was so clean, our suite immaculate. Felt like I was on a cruise minus the water. The location is great because it's on a service road of a major highway along with the trans milenio public transport, so getting around is super easy. Easy to walk around there, very modern walkways with some local small restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend their hotel for the accommodations and service, and the price was very reasonable. Bonus!! They have an elevator!! Important for us seniors.

We recently stayed at Lancaster House, and it was a delightful experience. The property is well-maintained, with a charming blend of modern and classic design elements. One of the standout features is the glass lift, which adds a touch of elegance accessible via hotel lobby. Our room was spacious and beautifully designed with wooden floors that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The size of the room was impressive, offering plenty of space for us to relax and unwind. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Lancaster House for its comfort and style.
