ibis Bogota Museo Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the ibis Bogota Museo, you immediately get that clean, no-nonsense vibe that the ibis brand does so well. It’s not trying to be fancy — this is a solid three-star hotel that knows exactly what it is. The lobby feels modern and welcoming, with that distinctive red accent color popping against neutral tones. What struck me right away was how efficiently everything seemed to run, and honestly, after a long flight into Bogotá, that kind of reliability is exactly what you want.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about this hotel’s location on Transversal 6 — it’s genuinely fantastic, and the numbers back it up. You’re right in the heart of La Candelaria, which means you can walk to the Gold Museum (hence the “Museo” in the name) in about five minutes. The historic center spreads out around you, with Plaza Bolívar just a short stroll away. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.1 out of 10, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. You’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away from the main tourist chaos.
The Room Experience
The rooms follow that classic ibis formula — compact but thoughtfully designed, with everything you actually need and nothing you don’t. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (they use their Sweet Bed concept), and the shower had proper water pressure, which isn’t always a given in Bogotá. What I appreciated was the soundproofing — you know how noisy South American cities can be, but I slept well here. The WiFi worked reliably throughout my stay, and there’s air conditioning, which you’ll definitely want during Bogotá’s warmer periods.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The buffet breakfast is actually pretty decent for a three-star property. You’ll find the usual suspects — scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, pastries — but they also include some local touches that show they understand their location. The coffee is proper Colombian coffee, obviously, and it’s strong enough to get you going for a day of exploring. They’ve got parking available too, which is honestly a huge deal if you’re planning to rent a car in Bogotá — finding secure parking in this part of the city can be a real headache otherwise.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
There’s something to be said for a hotel that has more repeat guests than most other properties in the area. After staying here, I think it comes down to reliability and that unbeatable location. You’re not getting bells and whistles, but you’re getting a clean, comfortable base in one of Bogotá’s most interesting neighborhoods. The staff seems to genuinely care about making your stay smooth, and when you’re dealing with the altitude and energy of this incredible city, having a dependable place to retreat to each night makes all the difference. It’s the kind of place that just works — and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Bogota’s hotels pair Andean spa rituals, vinyl lounges, and concierge-led emerald hunts.

Location was great. Fantastic view over the city from my room. Excellent buffet breakfast. Security staff were omnipresent on the ground floor which was reassuring and there was an in house taxi service so getting a ride was quick and easy.

Great variety for breakfast: it was worth the price, good local food, fresh fruits and most importantly great coffee.
We had lunch at their peruvian restaurant Q Ceviche, amazingly tasty and good menu. The location was great right across the street from Museo Nacional and easy to walk to Plaza Bolívar, I would stay with ibis Museo Hotel again.
It also had around convenience stores, 2 drugstores, Exxo and may other small places.Tiana from Switzerland (8/10)
