The hotel sits on Calle 31 Sur, which puts you right in the heart of one of Bogotá’s most vibrant districts. You’re walking distance from some excellent restaurants and cafes — I mean, you can practically smell the coffee roasting from nearby spots. The Zona Rosa nightlife is just a few blocks away, but the immediate area around the hotel maintains that perfect balance where it’s lively during the day but quiet enough at night. What really impressed me was how easy it is to catch a taxi or use ride-sharing apps from here, since drivers actually know this street well.

The Rooms

The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star hotel — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. Mine had a decent-sized window that let in plenty of natural light, which you don’t always get in this part of the city. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (sometimes you roll the dice with Colombian hotels on this front), and the bathroom was modern with good water pressure. Nothing fancy, but everything worked properly, and there’s something to be said for that reliability when you’re traveling. Each room is equipped with essential amenities and maintains consistent quality standards.

Here’s where Hotel Planeta 3 really shines — they offer free private parking on site, which is honestly a game-changer in Bogotá. If you’re planning to rent a car or have someone dropping you off, this eliminates so much stress about where to park safely. The staff speaks decent English, though brushing up on your Spanish phrases never hurts. WiFi worked well throughout the building, and I noticed couples seemed to really appreciate the quieter atmosphere — it’s got that romantic, intimate feel without being overly themed or cheesy.

  This property is unique. I'm not going to disclose the uniqueness about it but traveler should be aware it's not a tourist hotel… at least at the time of this review. The staff are friendly, but it's an unconventional experience because there's really no reception. There is the office in the parking garage on the first floor and they will help you when you arrive. Check out the area and you will understand that it is not necessarily a tourist area, but it's convenient for me because I have family and children that go to the large shopping mall which is within walking distance. I have never had an issue and I've stayed there a couple of times but that's because I know Bogotá and I know the area. it is an incredible value and the building is brand new but it's very minimal. if I was a young backpacker traveling with a few friends and I've been roughing it and got to Bogotá. I would stay here because the showers are excellent this is a good alternative to a hostal. I highly recommend that you contact the hotel before you book for the first time and ask them directly what type of experience you can expect what the process is for checking in. but if you're a seasoned tracker and can move fast on your feet and are relaxed, then you can handle this and you'll save a ton of money. I think you're safe, but don't be an idiot and be careful if you drink. The shopping mall is awesome and has everything you need and there are tons of restaurants. and the surrounding area is filled with people and shops. so again if you think you can hack it, give it a shot.
