Hotel CityFlats Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel CityFlats in Bogotá‘s Chapinero district, you immediately get that feeling — you know, when you realize you’ve stumbled onto something good. This four-star property sits right in the heart of one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The lobby has this modern, understated vibe that feels welcoming without trying too hard, and the staff genuinely seems happy to see you arrive.
The Chapinero Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Chapinero — you’re actually in the thick of things without the chaos of downtown. The hotel’s location on Carrera 8 puts you within walking distance of some of Bogotá’s best cafes, bookstores, and that eclectic mix of restaurants that makes this area so special. I mean, couples consistently rate this spot a 9.7, and after spending time here, I get why. You can stroll to Zona Rosa for dinner, catch a show at one of the nearby theaters, or just people-watch from one of the sidewalk cafes. It’s the kind of neighborhood where you actually want to explore on foot.
The Room Experience
The room itself strikes that perfect balance between functional and comfortable — nothing flashy, but everything you need is there and works well. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are modern with good water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in Bogotá. What really impressed me was the attention to details like blackout curtains and decent soundproofing. You’re in a busy part of the city, but you’d never know it once you’re settled in for the night.
Breakfast Worth Getting Up For
I’ll be honest — hotel breakfasts can be pretty forgettable, but Hotel CityFlats actually puts effort into theirs. They’ve got this buffet setup that covers all the bases: traditional Colombian options alongside American favorites, plus solid vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices. The coffee is excellent (as it should be in Colombia), and they change things up enough that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. There’s something satisfying about starting your day with a proper meal before heading out to explore the city.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
You know what really tells you about a place? The repeat guests — and this hotel has more than most properties in the area. After staying here, I understand why people return. It’s not just the prime location in Chapinero or the reliable service, though both matter. It’s that they’ve figured out how to make business travelers and tourists alike feel comfortable without overcomplicating things. The parking situation is sorted (no small feat in this part of Bogotá), the wifi actually works throughout the building, and the staff knows the neighborhood well enough to give you solid recommendations. Sometimes the best hotels are the ones that just get the fundamentals right.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Bogota around Quinta Camacho for tree-lined streets, concept cafes, and bike repair pop-ups.

Contacted them already before booking via email and they replied fast with good english. Also later with booking messages. Reception speaks good fluent english. Location is very good, as I often staid in the city before, this one is the best if you plan to be around Zona T area, it is about 5-10min walk to there, depending how fast you walk and mostly how many red lights you need to wait to cross the road. There are several restaurants towards the direction of Zona T, three big shopping malls and other cafes and bakeries, etc. The area also feels safe, also when walking in the dark, never did too late of course, but until 9 or 10pm there are always many people on the streets. There is no hairdryer in the room, but at the reception we asked for one and returned later. Bed was very big, but sadly made out of two mattresses and you can definitely feel the gap in between. Breakfast was always fresh and tasty, they make eggs by your preference, there were also fruits and drinks and some pastry, I wish choice was more wide, but if you stay 3 or 4 days you will be fine with making different combinations of what you take.
