Hotel Boutique Markes Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Boutique Markes, you immediately get that feeling of discovering something special that most tourists miss. This four-star boutique property sits quietly in the Modelia neighborhood of Fontibón, and honestly — that’s part of its charm. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely welcoming with that polished attention to detail you hope for but don’t always find. The moment you step through the doors, you sense the care that went into creating this intimate space.
The Fontibón Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in a real Bogotá neighborhood where locals actually live and work, not some touristy bubble. Modelia has this nice residential feel with tree-lined streets, and you know what? Couples absolutely get it (they rate the location 8.9, which makes total sense). You can walk to authentic Colombian restaurants where the menu isn’t translated into five languages, and there’s something refreshing about that. Plus, when you need to head into the city center or catch a flight, you’re well-positioned without being stuck in airport hotel limbo. The neighborhood truly offers the best of both worlds.
Your Room Experience
The room design strikes that perfect balance between boutique character and practical comfort. Each space feels thoughtfully put together — not cookie-cutter corporate, but not trying so hard to be quirky that you can’t find the light switch. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I mean, you’ll actually sleep well), and the bathrooms have those little touches that show someone cared about the details. What really works is how quiet everything feels, especially at night when you want to decompress from exploring the city. You’ll appreciate the attention to every element.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here gives you options without overwhelming you — they do both Continental and American styles, which honestly covers what most travelers want. The coffee is proper Colombian coffee (as it should be), and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying several days. I particularly appreciate that they seem to understand the difference between feeding people and actually nourishing them for a day of city exploration. The morning experience sets a positive tone for your entire stay.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests consistently rate this place 8.8 for location, and after spending time here, that number makes perfect sense. It’s not about being in the absolute center of everything — it’s about being somewhere that feels authentic while still giving you easy access to what you came to see. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience rather than just checking boxes, and there’s something to be said for a place where you feel like a welcomed guest rather than processed tourist. You’ll find yourself recommending it to friends, which is really the best test of any hotel. This boutique property delivers on its promise of genuine hospitality.

Near airport, the area is lovely close to everything , the staff are amazing they go over and above their duties to accommodate you, they arrange smoothly your transportation from and to the airport. The lovely lady at the counter even got me in at 13:00 knowing that the check in was at 15:00. Their communication is always sharp and accurate. Highly recommended thank you guys and see you the next time.

Katherine from Germany (7/10)
The place is ok, ok value for money. Rooms are big enough, breakfast is ok (not many options, though), bathroom small but functional and fully available warm water (contrary to what I read in other reviews). Perfect for a stay over to go to the airport, as it’s close but also well connected to other main streets.
