City Express Junior by Marriott Bogota Aeropuerto Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to City Express Junior by Marriott Bogota Aeropuerto, I’ll be honest — it’s not trying to be flashy, and that’s actually refreshing. This three-star property sits in Fontibón, which means you’re about as close to El Dorado Airport as you can get without sleeping on the runway. The building has that clean, modern look that screams “we know exactly what we’re here for,” and after staying here, I can tell you they deliver on that promise.

Location That Actually Makes Sense

Here’s the thing about Bogotá — traffic can be absolutely brutal, so being this close to the airport isn’t just convenient, it’s genius. You’re literally minutes away from your terminal, which I learned to appreciate after dealing with the city’s notorious rush hour madness on previous trips. The Fontibón neighborhood might not be the tourist heart of the city, but it’s got everything you need within walking distance. There’s a reason couples rate this location so highly — when you’re not stressed about making your flight, you can actually enjoy your last night in Colombia.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run Marriott property — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Nothing fancy, but everything works perfectly. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the air conditioning actually kept up with Bogotá’s unpredictable weather. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets, and a shower with decent water pressure. You know what? Sometimes that’s all you need.

Breakfast and Practical Perks

The buffet breakfast here is honestly better than it needs to be. I mean, they could serve stale pastries and instant coffee since most guests are just passing through, but they don’t. You’ll find local Colombian options alongside international favorites, and the coffee — well, this is Colombia, so of course it’s excellent. The free parking is another huge win, especially if you’re dealing with a rental car before flying out. I’ve stayed at places that charge ridiculous fees for airport parking, so this felt like a genuine bonus.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something to be said for a hotel that knows its purpose and executes it flawlessly. The staff here genuinely seems to care about making your stay smooth, not just checking boxes. I noticed quite a few repeat guests during my stay, which tells you everything about the consistency of this place. It’s not going to be the highlight of your Colombian adventure, but it’s going to make sure your trip ends (or begins) on the right note. When you’re dealing with international flights and all that stress, having a reliable, comfortable base near the airport is worth its weight in gold.

Hotels near me in Bogota offer shuttle loops to El Dorado Airport, cowork lounges, and quick hops to Zona G brunch spots.

  • Seijiro from Canada (7/10)

Location. Free shuttle to airport. Very clean and quiet. Good for a quick stay.

  • Larry from South Africa (7/10)

Well located near the airport, room was comfortable, staff were friendly, breakfast looked good, even though I had 4 hours to spare at the hotel and time to have breakfast, I was delayed due to the self service laundry not being operational, although I had been assured that it was working on two previous occasions. It amazes me that they offer self service laundry and assure a guest that it is operational, yet from reception to maintenance to management, either they are not aware that the machines are no operational, or just not interested in getting the equipment repaired.

The property was easy to get to from the airport. We used an Uber to get there and later learned Didi also works in Bogota. Don’t even try using a metered taxi from the airport. The reception staff is very friendly and assisted with a very late night check in. Vending machine available for water. We didn’t know about the airport shuttle but used it the next morning to get to the airport and the service was very good.
