Casa Hotel Luna de Paso Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Casa Hotel Luna de Paso honestly feels like discovering a well-kept secret in Bogotá’s Fontibón district. This three-star gem sits quietly on a residential street, and I mean that in the best way possible — you’re getting all the authentic neighborhood vibes without the tourist crowds. The building itself has this charming, understated elegance that immediately puts you at ease, like staying at a friend’s beautifully renovated home rather than some cookie-cutter hotel chain.
Location That Actually Works
Here’s what I love about Fontibón — it’s real Bogotá, you know? You’re close enough to El Dorado Airport (which is incredibly handy if you’re flying in late or catching an early flight), but far enough to feel like you’re experiencing how locals actually live. The couples who stay here consistently rave about the location, and honestly, I get it. There’s something romantic about wandering these quieter streets together, discovering little cafés and shops that don’t show up in guidebooks. Plus, getting into central Bogotá is straightforward once you figure out the TransMilenio system — though I’d recommend asking the staff for directions first.
The Room Experience
My room was surprisingly spacious for what you’d expect from a boutique property in this price range. The design strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and Colombian character — think clean lines with warm touches that actually feel authentic rather than manufactured. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had good water pressure, which you can’t always count on in Bogotá. What really impressed me was the attention to small details — proper lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and windows that actually open for fresh air.
Service and Atmosphere
The staff here operates more like helpful neighbors than formal hotel employees, which creates this relaxed atmosphere throughout the property. They’re genuinely knowledgeable about the area and seem to enjoy sharing recommendations — not just the obvious tourist spots, but places where you’ll actually want to eat and explore. The common areas have this lived-in comfort that encourages you to linger with a coffee or plan your next day’s adventures. There’s no pretense here, just solid hospitality that feels natural rather than scripted.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.1 rating, Casa Hotel Luna de Paso clearly does something right, and after staying here, it’s obvious what that is. It’s the kind of place that gets the fundamentals perfect — clean, comfortable, well-located — while adding just enough personality to make your stay memorable. You’re not paying for unnecessary frills or over-the-top amenities; you’re getting excellent value in a neighborhood that gives you a real taste of Bogotá life. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having this quiet base to return to after exploring the city’s energy and chaos.

The staff were super helpful and friendly! Even getting up at 1.50am to make sure we could check out at 2am and get an Uber to the airport! Very close to the airport, about 10 minutes by a £4 Uber

A perfect stay if you are looking for something close to the airport.

We stayed with Gildardo on two occasions and both times everything worked out perfectly. He is such a gentleman. We added in the airport pickup and drop off and it all went smoothly. There are a few restaurants nearby for a late dinner or an early breakfast. There are also a few grocery stores. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. This is the place to stay if you have an early morning flight from Bogota. Don’t bother looking anywhere else. Thank you Gildardo. We miss you.

Owner was very nice and helpful. Beds were comfortable, shower was good and the room was clean. Short drive from the airport but not much in the local area. Decent price compared with taxis for a lift to the airport.

Gilberto really is a very attentive and proactive host. I felt very comfortable and was able to rest peacefully. The place is very close to the airport and it is possible to rest peacefully.

Staff were friendly – a lady even walked me to the nearest ATM. Close to shops & the airport. The man waited with me outside until my taxi came when I left. Excellent service!

Super friendly and great host, was great to talk to and drove us to the airport reliably at the ungodly hour of 3.30am, pretending its the most normal thing in the world!

I liked the friendly staff and communication with the employees and the size of the room. I liked the beds and that we had a private and clean bathroom. The WiFi worked great too.
