Casa Hotel Boyaca Real Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Casa Hotel Boyaca Real, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked away on a quiet street in Teusaquillo, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star boutique property has this warm, residential vibe that makes you feel like you’re staying at a well-appointed friend’s place rather than just another hotel. The building itself has character, and I mean that in the best way — it’s got this classic Bogotá architecture that feels authentic without trying too hard.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about the Teusaquillo area — you’re actually in a real neighborhood where locals live and work, not some touristy bubble. Bogotá can be overwhelming, but this part of the city strikes that perfect balance between being accessible and feeling genuinely Colombian. You can walk to several good cafés and local spots, and getting to the historic center or Zona Rosa is straightforward by taxi or TransMilenio. Couples seem to really get this location (the hotel mentions they rate it highly), and I can see why — it’s got that intimate, residential feel that’s perfect for exploring the city together.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was well-thought-out, with enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. What struck me was the attention to comfort — the bed was genuinely good, and the bathroom had that clean, modern feel without being sterile. You know what’s nice? The windows actually open, which sounds basic but isn’t always a given, and there’s something satisfying about getting fresh Bogotá air (well, as fresh as it gets at 8,600 feet). The Wi-Fi worked reliably, which matters when you’re trying to navigate a new city or stay in touch with home.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here feel unhurried — there’s a breakfast area that’s cozy rather than grand, and the staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re set for the day. I appreciated that they could give solid recommendations for getting around, and they knew the neighborhood well enough to suggest places that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. The whole operation feels personal in a way that larger hotels just can’t match, honestly.
Why Guests Love It
That 8.8 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. The location gets consistent praise because it gives you that authentic Bogotá experience while still being practical for visitors. I think what people respond to is the combination of being well-run (everything works, staff is helpful) while maintaining that boutique, personal atmosphere. For the price point, you’re getting solid value and a genuine sense of place, which in a city like Bogotá — where you can easily feel lost in the sprawl — actually means quite a lot.

I enjoyed staying here -the area was nice and only a short ride by uber to the main square. I was warmly welcomed by the super friendly receptionist, and the staff were all very helpful too. It was a great location, and was safe. The room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was good and the staff were very accommodating to my vegan diet.
