Bon 17 Hotel By SHG Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Bon 17 Hotel By SHG, you immediately get that boutique vibe — it’s intimate without feeling cramped, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup. The lobby has this modern Colombian aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard, and honestly, after dealing with Bogotá’s chaotic streets, stepping inside feels like finding a calm pocket in the city. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which is rare for a three-star property. I mean, you’re not getting marble everything, but there’s a genuine warmth here that makes up for any missing bells and whistles.
The Zona Rosa Advantage
Here’s what really sets this place apart — the location on Carrera 13 puts you right in the heart of Zona Rosa, and I can’t stress enough how perfect this is for exploring Bogotá. You’re literally walking distance from some of the city’s best restaurants and bars, plus the Transmilenio system is super accessible when you want to venture further out. Couples seem to really get this area (the hotel mentioned they rate it highly), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about strolling these tree-lined streets in the evening. The neighborhood has that safe, upscale feel during the day, but it doesn’t completely shut down at night like some parts of the city do.
Room Reality Check
The rooms at Bon 17 Hotel By SHG are what I’d call “efficiently designed” — they’re not huge, but everything you need is there and it’s all thoughtfully arranged. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in this price range), and the bathrooms are modern with decent water pressure, which trust me, matters when you’re dealing with Bogotá’s altitude. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing — Carrera 13 can get busy, but you won’t be kept awake by traffic noise. The Wi-Fi works reliably throughout the building, and there are enough outlets for all your devices without having to unplug the bedside lamp.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast is served in a cozy dining area that feels more like a café than a hotel restaurant, and while it’s not an elaborate buffet, they do a solid job with local and international options. The coffee — well, this is Colombia, so even a three-star hotel serves better coffee than most places back home. There’s a small business center if you need to print boarding passes or catch up on work, and the front desk can arrange taxis or give you solid recommendations for dinner spots. They seem to really know the neighborhood, which makes a difference when you’re trying to navigate a city like Bogotá.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Bon 17 Hotel By SHG isn’t any single standout feature — it’s how everything just works smoothly together. You get that prime Zona Rosa location without paying upscale prices, the service feels personal rather than corporate, and there’s enough local character to remind you that you’re actually in Bogotá, not some generic international chain. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a comfortable base in one of the city’s most walkable neighborhoods, where you can easily slip out for dinner or drinks without dealing with long taxi rides or safety concerns.
Bogota hotels keep guests close to Gold Museum vaults, coffee labs, and ciclovia bike lanes.

There was a full time security guard at the entrance and he was there 24/7 as well as locked gate. The location was a short walk to the museums and better restaurants but there were lots of snack places nearby
