AW Hotel American Travel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to AW Hotel American Travel in Teusaquillo, you know what struck me first? It’s not trying to be something it isn’t. This three-star property sits comfortably on Calle 24d, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building has this straightforward, no-nonsense vibe that immediately puts you at ease — you’re not going to be intimidated by marble lobbies or overly formal staff here. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax without pretense.
The Teusaquillo Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location in Bogotá — Teusaquillo is where actual locals live and work, not just where tourists pass through. You’re walking distance from Zona Rosa when you want that nightlife energy, but you can also grab empanadas from the corner spot that’s been there forever. The couples who stay here get it — they rated the location 8.7, and I mean, when you can stroll to both business districts and cultural sites without dealing with crazy traffic, that makes sense. This neighborhood truly offers the best of both worlds for travelers seeking authenticity.
Your Room and Space
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a solid three-star — clean, functional, with everything working properly. The beds are comfortable enough that you’ll actually sleep well, and there’s decent space to spread out your stuff. What I appreciated was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel cramped. The overall comfort level exceeded my expectations for this category.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here leans American, which honestly works well in Bogotá where you might be craving something familiar after days of local cuisine. They’ve got the basics covered — eggs, toast, coffee that’ll actually wake you up. It’s not fancy, but it’s substantial enough to get you going for a full day of exploring the city. The coffee alone makes it worth getting up for, and that’s saying something in a country known for incredible coffee. You’ll find yourself looking forward to each morning here.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests have been rating this place 8.8 for location, and after staying here, I totally get why. You’re positioned perfectly to experience Bogotá like someone who actually lives here, not just someone passing through on a tour bus. The staff knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good arepas place two blocks over or tell you which TransMilenio stop gets you downtown fastest. It’s that kind of local knowledge that makes a stay memorable. Plus, for couples especially, there’s something nice about having a reliable, comfortable base in a neighborhood where you can actually walk around and feel like you’re part of the city.
